About This Spot

Stepping into Rust Bakery feels like slipping into a quietly spirited nook tucked away from the humdrum of Seoul’s bustling streets. The warm scent of freshly baked bread and brewing coffee welcomes you before you even reach the counter, setting a calm but lively rhythm to your visit. It’s a place that invites you to pause, take a breath, and savor moments both simple and thoughtful.

This cozy café balances the nostalgic charm of traditional French patisserie with subtle, unexpected twists that gently surprise you. Whether you find yourself lingering over a flaky croissant or a creamy pudding infused with delicate notes like pistachio or earl grey, each bite feels like a small discovery. The open kitchen adds to the experience—watching bakers skillfully work their craft deepens the connection to every creation.

The atmosphere carries an understated artistic vibe, where found objects and warm wood tones subtly echo the neighborhood’s industrial roots. Comfortable seats—from well-worn schoolhouse chairs to inviting rooftop corners—offer intimate spaces to unwind alone or gather with friends and family. The steady hum of conversation melds with the clinking of coffee cups and the faint crackle of fresh pastries being sliced, giving the space a familiar yet special energy.

Rust Bakery’s quiet dedication to craft and community is felt in every detail, from the careful balance of flavors and textures to the warmth of its staff’s greetings. It’s the kind of place that feels chosen rather than discovered—a trusted keep for those who appreciate the simple pleasure of good company, well-made bread, and a moment of calm in the city’s ever-turning tide.

Amazing bakery. Really beautiful traditional French pastry with a few gorgeous flavor twists. Raspberry, Kaya, earl grey, a delicate lemon. Wish I had more time to try everything. The coffee was perfect and artful. The decor is really delightful with found schoolhouse chairs and desks. Love the Rust Bakery. Can’t wait to come back.

Found this hidden gem of bakery in the middle of steel-mechanic/enginerring store/area nearby my livin' place. Very simple and warm ambience with open kitchen view of baking oven and coffee station. As you walk into the foyer, on your left you will see the bakery kitchen and after opening the door, the staff has warmly greeted and with the smell of bakery and coffee. Walked around the pastry station, made up my mind and bought baguette and mont blanc for the first time to be taken out. Friendly staff to farewell me, i definitely come back to try other pastries. Baguette is very crusty and good crumb and smell very good. Love it.

Very good coffee and sweets. I especially loved the egg tart . The place can get full so I’d recommend looking for available seats before ordering.

Fantastic Basque Cheesecake and vanilla latte, perfect example of a not-too-sweet European bakery and café. Great service, artsy eclectic, up and coming neighborhood with plenty of new-scene things to do.

Amazing bakery in Mullae neighborhood. The atmosphere, the service, and the pastries are all excellent. Very suitable for those who seek to sit out their afternoon chilling or socializing with friends.
